Summary:
On a stormy night, the lighthouse bell can be heard; on a ship are two lovers, unaware of the danger they face; the following day the sun shines, the wreckage lies on the shore, and the two lovers now rest in peace.

This is some kind of Seventh Day Adventist thing

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Bible-based Christian denomination which is distinguished by its observance of Saturday, the original seventh day of the Judeo-Christian week, as the Sabbath, and by its emphasis on the imminent Second Coming (Advent) of Jesus Christ.
The denomination grew out of the Millerite movement in the United States during the middle part of the 19th century and was formally established in 1863. Among its founders was Ellen G. White, whose extensive writings are still held in high regard by the church today.
It has a missionary presence in over 200 countries and territories and is ethnically and culturally diverse. The church operates numerous schools, hospitals and publishing houses worldwide, as well as a prominent humanitarian aid organization known as the Adventist Development and Relief Agency.
The church is also known for its emphasis on diet and health, its holistic understanding of the person, its promotion of religious liberty, and its conservative principles and lifestyle. Adventists are vegetarian and adhere to Mosaic dietary law.
The church was formally established in Battle Creek, Michigan, on May 21, 1863, with a membership of 3,500. The denominational headquarters were later moved from Battle Creek to Takoma Park, Maryland, where they remained until 1989. The General Conference headquarters then moved to its current location in Silver Spring, Maryland.

My father grew up in an orthodox Adventist household in Takoma Park, and all of his children, (miss monkey included) were born in The SDA hospital there. I grew up in the spiritual and physical shadow of this religion, and know little more about it than I posted above.
I do remember a day when I asked my father why he never went back to the SDA Church after he returned from World War II and he said, “It’s kinda hard to take all that doom and gloom stuff seriously after you’ve lived through a war like that”.
Amen, brother.
